Bonjour! My name is Joseph-Alfred-Féréol Bleau, Mayor of Saint Boniface at the time of its incorporation in 1908. You can call me Joe Bleau. But let's get one thing straight: I'm not just any Joe Blow. I am the ONE
and ONLY Joe Blow.
The year Saint Boniface became a city in its own right, we were
confident our little city could rival our sister city, on the other side
of the river. Sadly,
the dream of the City of Saint Boniface only lasted 65 years. But I must
say that I was thrilled to discover that despite its amalgation with
Winnipeg, Saint Boniface has not lost its soul. In 2008, we celebrate the culture, the tradition, the passion and the vision of Winnipeg's French Quarter!
As Special Ambassador to Célébrations 2008, you will see me at many
activities throughout the year. Be sure to come by and say hello and
shake the hand of Joe Bleau, Mayor of Saint Boniface!
